Appointments are every:

  • 4 weeks until you are 30 weeks
  • 2 weeks until you are 34 weeks
  • Weekly until the birth of your baby.

However care can be tailored to meet your individual circumstances. At these appointments we will monitor the well being of both mother and baby, by carrying out:

  • routine blood tests
  • urinalysis
  • blood pressure
  • palpation
  • monitoring the babies heartbeat.
  • Facilitate discussion regarding the preparation for your delivery, recovery and early parenting.

During your care, if there is a need for any antenatal referrals or if any complications arise during your pregnancy, the midwife will arrange for you to see a consultant obstetrician at your link hospital which will be covered by the NHS, (if you are entitled). During the antenatal period you are entitled to have two scans under the NHS (please note in some areas it is just one scan); further scans are not included unless deemed necessary by your Midwife, GP or NHS consultant. However if you choose to, you can arrange to have private scans.

Throughout your antenatal period we have relationships with other complimentary practitioners such as acupuncturists, aroma therapists, homeopaths, chiropractors, reflexologist, masseurs, Master Pilates practitioners and yoga professionals whom you can be referred to.
